SEEBRIG- NATO’s Balkan Blackwater Paramilitaries?

As part of the global ‘war on terror’ NATO created a Southern Balkan military force with about 5,000 troops encompassing 7 countries: those being Greece, Albania, Italy, FYROM, Rumania, Bulgaria and Turkey.

SEEBRIG started as an idea in 1996 as a non-functional forum of cooperation amongst the Defence Ministries of the Balkan states: Albania, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, USA, Italy, Croatia, Montenegro, Ukraine, FYROM, Rumania, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey and Moldavia as a country observer. SEEBRIG was officially founded in 1998. It started to function in Filloupolis from 2003 was transferred to Constanza in 2007 and Tirnavo in 2020 where it will remain until 2020. The SEEBRIG brigade was operational fully once when it took over the Multinational Security of Kabul for six months in 2006.

Turkish Officers in Charge of SEEBRIG
Turkish participation is absolutely ironic being that Greece has lost almost half of Cyprus to Turkey (the Republic of Northern Cyprus isn’t recognised internationally) but Turkish forces are stationed permanently on Greek soil with Turkish generals running this military outfit called SEEBRIG. Recently when two Greek officers allegedly crossed into Turkish territory from the area Evros (but were probably taken) no retaliatory action has been taken by Greece despite the fact that they have been held hostage under no charges by Erdogan. The business of mass migration and Erdogan’s capacity in sending people across is an earner which must not be jeopardised at any cost.

Taking into account Greeks went to Afghanistan as part of ISAF its clear its creation is part of NATO’s global drug dealing operation to raise funds for all the wars the US was involved in during its unipolar phase after the collapse of the ex-Soviet Union. SEEBRIG went to Afghanistan in 2006 with 18 Greek officers and it was then based in Bulgaria and the aim as announced by the Greek Ministry of Defence was ‘taking legal measures against terrorism, which will be common for the members of SEEBRIG’. Subsequently in 2011 it came to be based fully in Greece up until 2020.

Drug Routes: NATO’s Centrality

If one takes a closer look at the countries involved and the drug routes from Afghanistan via Turkey it is clear the set up of this paramilitary outfit is twofold: attack popular resistance movements and control and supply the drug flows so no one can compete with them. A third objective was created in our decade. Overseeing migrants flows via NATO with the armada SNMG2, which in practice implies a taxi service for mass illegal migration.

A Minister from the Defence Department Syriza MP Voutsis declared the strategy of the Syriza government is the protection of ‘energy routes and paths of international trade’. In practice meaning using state resources of Greek taxpayers to defend multinational businesses which are extracting energy from the Mediterranean basin or moving it across it.

EUs Current Migration Commissioner oversaw SEEBRIG handover
In 2013 Defence Minister was Dimitris Avramopoulos (who is currently EU Commissioner of Migration who oversaw 2.5m arrivals in 2015) also oversaw the handing over of the Military Executive to various parties amongst others a Turkish Officer for SEEBRIG as a whole, called Hakan Eser in a handover ceremony from the FYROM chief Zdravko Popovski. In the background to the ceremony Avramopoulos met with FYROMs defence minister Talat Jaferi. They both discussed defence matters. Now how can a Greek Defence Minister discuss ‘defence matters’ with the statelet of FYROM when its diplomatic corps travel the world with maps which include Greek territory? The alleged ‘Aegean Macedonia’ a Titoite dream of access to the sea via the Thessaloniki port? Let alone hand over control to a Turkish officer when half of Cyprus has been illegally annexed by Turkey itself?

Avramopoulos after the ceremony declared the following:
“Here in Tirnavo in the beautiful ceremony full of symbolism we have given control of the SEEBRIG administration to a Turkish Officer under the framework of cooperation of all the countries in the area.

That which I emphasised is that the whole area of Southeastern Europe has to change from its bad past, under pressure from the necessity of cooperation, solidarity and friendship. Let us create an oasis of security for all the peoples in the area”
‘This message which is sent by this ceremony is that despite the fact that our Armed Forces have as the main aim the defence of the independence and integrity of our country we are at the same time becoming facilitators for the creation of peace and stability in our region’ Avramopoulos concluded.

Since then one can see the effects of this. Crime and drug dealing has skyrocketed. Sales of bars and security doors has gone through the roof and the murder of Greek pensioners in their homes for paltry sums of money continues unabated.

Is it a coincidence that the EU Commissioner for Mass Migration is Greek taking into account his history in the Greek Defence Ministry which is a US entity since the 1950’s when they ran the country directly for the civil war and during the 1960’s and early 1970’s when they backed the Greek military junta? The evidence suggests otherwise.

Greek Defence Minister Kammenos and Deputy Minister Voutsis

Held a meeting to explain its three years of service between 2015-2017 with respect to its machinations in imperialist wars in the Eastern Mediterranean basin, the Middle East, the Balkans and the orientation of Greece to the Euroatlantic axis. Aiming to improve its competitive position vis a vis local and international business circles, oil and gas exploration, oil and gas importation, pipelines, shipping and transportation etc.

Defence Minister Kammenos partner of the Syriza govt stated that ‘it is the first time where such work occurs (from the point of view of Greece), on the level of the alliance of NATO where Greece’s presence was so strong’, on the level of implementing the aims of NATO. They stated that from 2018 onwards ‘we will have many visits in the Suda military base in Crete and other NATO facilities’
The document produced by the Ministry explaining a three year appraisal of performance clarify that ‘Greece’s role has been strengthened in international and European military alliances and they have emphasised Greece as the main pole of stability in the Mediterranean and by extension Europe due to its geostrategic position’

Further down the document:
‘Maintaining and advancing Peace and Stability’
We have signed bilateral and multilateral agreements with states of strategic importance like Israel, Jordan and Egypt. At the same time for the further advancement and maintenance of our strategic role, we have taken part in international exercises for the maintenance of our strategic role we have taken part in international exercises (NATO. EU, Balkan countries) jointly training in Greece and abroad
Our armed forces have been represented in many Forums of NATO and the EU and at the same time instrumental in deepening the regional cooperations (SEDM, SEEBRIG) via common actions which have included amongst others the USA, Croatia, Russia – Kazakhstan, Czechlands, Poland, Israel, Egypt, Cyprus and Jordan

An Agenda within NATO
Greece’s role due to its geographical position has now been upgraded and has a ‘dominant role’ with NATO infrastructure and in ‘participating in committees and NATO-EU forums for the creation of policy which has strategic interest in policing from the area NATO’s defence’. Alongside this there is an attempt for the Greek government to take on board issues of ‘hybrid war’… As noted in the documents, “we organised a group of professionals (SEEMIC-South East Europe Military Intelligence Committee) to undertake intelligence on these matters.
A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed with the above aforementioned unit for staffing this new NATO unit for confronting electronic warfare.

Globalising the Greek Armed Forces
The Syriza government praises itself as it has ‘upgraded its role in multinational operations, missions and activities of the US, the EU, NATO, OSCE and other International Organisations. The Greek Armed forces now take an active part in many parts of the world, offering improvements in world peace and regional security…’
“there are around 1,500 men and women of the Greek armed forces who are participating in peacekeeping operations in three continents and in places like Kosovo, Mali, Afghanistan, Bosnia and in sea regions in the central and eastern Mediterranean. In the special chapter appraising the past “Active readiness of the Greek Armed Forces” it is noted that they have taken part in 174 multinational exercises and cooperations (46 NATO exercises, 7 EU exercises, 121 interstate) and it is decided that our participation has increased numerically but also qualitatively”
We have participated in the Balkan shield activities and in 2018 will take part in ‘Iniohos’ of the Airforce

EU Naval Force Mediterranean
What is hidden and deliberately is that the left populists constantly emphasises that ‘migration is a product of wars’ but fails to mention the 77 nations that have been registered by FRONTEX as having arrived in Greece which by implication would imply NATO is at war with the half the planet. On the other hand the right populists hide the role of NATO in mass migration and cover for the fact that the military is directly involved in shipping over millions and housing and feeding them as has been noted in the Greek media (disused army camps, feeding and cleaning for migrant blow ins)

The only ‘boom’ in Syriza’s Greece. Migrant blow in camps springing up everywhere.
As a consequence of the April 2015 Libya migrant shipwrecks, the EU launched a military operation[when?] known as European Union Naval Force Mediterranean (EUNAVFOR Med), also known as Operation Sophia, with the aim of neutralising established refugee smuggling routes in the Mediterranean. The operational headquarters is located in Rome.

EUNAVFOR MED/Operation Sophia Medal
Let’s see what Morgherini the EU’s High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
“On 24 August 2015, a pregnant Somali woman rescued from a refugee boat by HMS Enterprise gave birth to a child aboard the German frigate Schleswig-Holstein, the first to ever be born aboard a ship of the German Navy. At the suggestion of the attending medical personnel, the child was named Sophia.[1] This was a name associated with German naval ships named Schleswig-Holstein, as the earlier destroyer Schleswig-Holstein had used the radio call sign "Sophie X". This was itself a reference to the early battleship SMS Schleswig-Holstein, which had been dedicated to Princess Louise Sophie of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg, as have later ships of the name.[2] EUNAVFORMED was subsequently renamed "Operation Sophia", after the baby born aboard Schleswig-Holstein.[2][3]
I will suggest to Member States that we change the name of our Operation: instead of calling it EUNAVFOR MED, I suggest we use the name: Sophia. To honour the lives of the people we are saving, the lives of people we want to protect, and to pass the message to the world that fighting the smugglers and the criminal networks is a way of protecting human life.[4]
— Federica Mogherini, Rome, EUNAVFOR MED operation Sophia Operational Headquarters, 24 September 2015

Operation ‘Sophia’

Mission flagship of the Italian Navy, Garibaldi
The operation aims to undertake systematic efforts to identify, capture and dispose of vessels as well as enabling assets used or suspected of being used by migrant smugglers or traffickers. The Juncker Commission, in particular the HR Federica Mogherini, views this operation as a fundamental contribution to fighting instability in the region and as a way to reduce the loss of lives at sea and increase the security of citizens of the European Union.[5]
EUNAVFOR Med consists of three phases:[6]
• The first phase focuses on surveillance and assessment of human smuggling and trafficking networks in the Mediterranean.
• The second stage of the operation provides for the search and, if necessary, diversion of suspicious vessels.
• The third phase would allow the disposal of vessels and related assets, preferably before use, and to apprehend traffickers and smugglers.
There is a common budget of EURO 11.82 million for a 12 months period. In addition, military assets and personnel are provided by the contributing states with the running costs and personnel costs being met on a national basis.[7]
By 2016, more than 13,000 migrants had been ‘rescued’ from the sea in the course of the operation.[8]
On 20 June 2016, the Council of the European Union extended Operation Sophia’s mandate reinforcing it by adding two supporting tasks:[5] The length of the Operation may be continuously renewed by the Council.[9]
• training of the Libyan coastguards and navy
• contributing to the implementation of the UN arms embargo on the high seas off the coast of Libya.

On 25 July 2017, the Council of the European Union again extended Operation Sophia's mandate, while also amending its mandate to:[10]
• set up a monitoring mechanism of trainees to ensure the long-term efficiency of the training of the Libyan Coastguard
• conduct new surveillance activities and gather information on illegal trafficking of oil exports from Libya in accordance with UNSCR 2146 and 2362;
• enhance the possibilities for sharing information on human trafficking with member states' law enforcement agencies, FRONTEX and EUROPOL.

If one reads the above one sees that this Libyan migrant route after NATO bombed the place and created instability it’s a way of justifying mass migration. Below one can see the ships involved and the countries:
Assets Currently deployed
• Italy San Giorgio-class amphibious transport dock San Giusto (flagship)
• Spain Santa María-class frigate Numancia[11]
• Germany Elbe-class replenishment ship Mosel
• France D'Estienne d'Orves-class aviso Lieutenant de vaisseau Le Hénaff
• UK Echo-class survey ship HMS Echo
• Slovenia Svetlyak-class patrol boat Triglav
• Republic of Ireland Samuel Beckett-class offshore patrol vessel LÉ Samuel Beckett
• Italy T AB 212 ASW helicopter
• Luxembourg Two SW3 Merlin III maritime surveillance aircraft
• Poland An-28B1R BRYZA maritime surveillance aircraft
• Spain AB-212 helicopter
• Spain CN-235 VIGMA-D4 maritime surveillance aircraft

Mogherini further said the EU Ministers would discuss the possibility to move to phase 2-B which would have Op Sophia vessels move from high sea directly to Libyan territorial waters in case the Libyan authorities request so.
“It is up to the Libyan authorities to determine their priorities because the leadership and the ownership has to be a Libyan one. But obviously we are ready to discuss with the Ministers what is needed to be ready in the case, in a moment when an invitation comes to move to the territorial waters of Libya to work in partnership with the Libyans.”

According to the Daily Mail http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5229705/Navy-rescued-18-000-migrants-Med.html it openly stated the British Royal Navy which are military ships not commercial have picked up people in the Mediterranean and transported them to the EU. Not the other way round. There is no demand to drop them off in the EU if military ships. Hence they aren’t picking them up in the sea. They are going directly off the costs of Libya and collecting them.

Britain’s HMS Bulwark taxi service role as part of NATO’s mass importation of migrant blow ins.

Conclusion
As evidenced recently by Syriza’s open support of Merkel’s mass migration agenda (in accepting returns from Germany to save her political skin from the rise of the AfD in Bavaria which is a bastion of her coalition partners), the creation of parallel networks by NATO throughout the Balkans and the Mediterranean have as the aim a twin track policy: replacing the population as fast as possible and crushing any resistance by areas being turned into mass migrant slums. NATO’s footprints are all over it. The sooner it is disbanded the better.
