Towards a 'Greater'... Albania Penalises Greek Minority: Murders Citizens Confiscates Property (Part 5)

There are around 25k Greeks who allegedly live in Albania today with the last census! Obvioulsy they were a lot more, but they weren’t registered and the numbers were also falsified. Many complaints were made by many. The political formation ‘Omonia’ that represents Greeks doesn’t do its own census for unknown reasons but most reports admit there are around 400-500k Greeks representing around 12% of the Albanian population.
In an ethnological survey in 1994 they calculated that the number of Greeks in Northern Ipirus was around 40k and in the rest of Albania around 20k. According to the Paris Conference (1919) the Greek minority of Northern Ipirus was around 120k whilst the last census under the socialist system there were 59k citizens! During this period the ‘Greek minority zone’ as the area was called, was lived in by Greeks and was reduced to 99 villages, leaving many of the minority outside the designated zone apart from Himarra, Koritsa, Avlona etc. According to reports in the Albanian media 70% of those questioned refused in the recent census to answer the question regarding they religious beliefs as noted by the paper ‘Katopsi’

Political Representation of Greeks in Albania
This is the largest minority in Albania recognised officially as a national minority n Albania. The organisation ‘Omonia’ and the Union Party of Human Rights represent this minority in Albania.

A priority of Greek foreign policy in relation to Albania is following the situation of all the members of the Greek minority in the whole country and not only the areas where the Albanian government recognises ‘minorities’. Full respect of the rights of the minority and the implementation of all the rights and responsibilities of the albanian side constitutes a criterion with the demands of its European course being a barometer of bilateral relations of both countries.

The main issues which dominate the Greek minority in Albania are those of education, the use of the mother tongue the lack of members of the minority in representation in public services despite their continue representation in Parliament and respect their property rights.

In particular the right of free public education for the members of the minority in their mother tongues, emphasising that it constitutes an obligation of every modern state. Unfortunately the Albanian state only recognises these rights exclusively in the ‘minority zones’ and limits their rights with the result being many members of the Greek minority that live outside these ones lose the right of free education in their mother tongue.

When the Hoxha regime fell land was granted back on the basis of 3 ‘stremmata’ (Greek measurement of acreage) to former landowners. Communal property was then requisitioned to build hotels on it based on false land ownership. This has come from on high to try to eradicate the presence of the Greek minority in Albania. In particular where Greeks own land in the Albanian riviera of Himarra. Its no joke that Tirana is currently awash with many newly built fours star hotels whilst it has almost zero tourism apart from drug dealing ones. They must be awas with money and want to kill two birds with one stone. Use it by developing their pristine beaches and getting rid of Greek presence.

Murdering Greek Katsifas one day before OXI
They didn’t immobilise Katsifas they murdered him – Omonia political organisation of Greek minority in Albania They assert the Albanian police didn’t follow protocol immobilising Katsifas but shot him dead.

What Happened?
There was a presence from the Albanian special forces which were to be found in the village, due to safety concerns after the celebration regarding the fallen Greek soldiers in the Italian-Greek 1940 war tried to lower a massive Greek flag which provoked the reaction of Katsifas who appears to have confronted them. When they threatened him he went home picked up his Kalashnikov and started shooting in the air to frighten them. Another version states that he did that trying to respect the dead of the 1940-41 war.

The result being a mad manhunt and him being chased by the Albanian special forces for a few hours. More police forces arrived from Argirokastro who started police road blocks and checks in and out of Katsifas town Vouliariates. The police entered the home of the victim, looking for him assaulting his close relatives.. The finally found him midday in an abandoned water tank where he was shot in the head and the chest.Tears for the execution of Konstanos Katsifas. Issues for the Greek minority in Albania after an intensification of anti-Greek propaganda. All of the events leading up to the execution occurred whilst celebrations were ongoing for the OXI day and there was official representation in Vouliariates by the Greek and Albanian government. It isnt simple the taking away of a life which is a basic human right but the whole psychological climate against the Greek minority in Albania.

We hope all the anti-Greek climate which was prepared as a propagandistic campaign prior to the conflict between the now murdered Katsifas and the local police force, the calls by anti-Greek parties and organisations and the agonising attempt at changing the political agenda of Tirana weren’t reasons which influenced the character of the forces which came from the capital.

The message towards the Greeks in Albania and the hundreds of guests from Greece is unfortunately sad. But we in Omonia will continue to insist that we arent defeated by the injustice and the suffocating pressure which is being placed by the MSM acting like petrol to the fire.

Speaking to Protothema gr the President of the Political Organisation ‘Omonia’ Mr Leonidas Pappas spoke about two versions of events that led to the death of the 35 year old Greek Albanian. “The first version states that the police instructed him to hand himself over but that he refused and parallelly fired and when his bullets ran out came out shouting ‘Long Live Greece’ and appears to be choosing death without handing himself over. The second version is that the Albanian police officers wanted to execute him on the spot but wanting it to appear that there was an altercation. We cannot of course know the truth”

The parade happens at the cemetery of the fallen Greek soldiers. No Albanian police were injured but local media uploaded pictures with signs of police cars with bullets from Kalashnikov. A section of the Albanian media wanted to pass off the victim as a far right extremist a member of Golden Dawn. A character assassination of Katsifas which were defined by the intense patriotic views and reservations regarding the future of his special country as shown by his views on social media.

Tsipras was interviewed in November 2018 and he stated the following, “Today is a day of mourning for the Greeks in Albania. I don’t want to make a comment but to understand the cry of anguish of the mother that lost a child which involved feeling sadness and hatred. I will only confirm that Greece did all it could with the Albanian authorities. We asked for the immediate explanation of the situation and for Greek police to be present in the investigations” and hes stated our strategy shouldn’t change in use coming closer with the neighbouring country so as to resolve old differences Our aim is to determine the sea differences we have between Greece and Albania and we have strategised a solution to the chronic problems we will have a cost but we will not lose our orientation”… in other words we have to try and prop up the Columbia of Europe at all costs.

Funeral of Katsifas
“The Greek minority, the good people of Vouliarates aren’t Greek, but citizens of Albania. Albania isn’t ashamed by shameless people who live like hyenas and scream like crows. Our worth is such to those who think it is a weakness. Our state doesn’t fight with provocateurs of funerals. Like every nation Greece has its own pigs and monkeys. We dont need hyperbolic comments. Its an event in a village by some people who are clowns”
Eddia Rama responding on Social Media as translated in Greek paper ProtoThema

https://www.protothema.gr/politics/article/837097/se-anamoni-gia-na-katalagiasei-o-thoruvos-apo-ti-dolofonia-katsifa-i-kuvernisi/

“Katsifas isn’t a hero, and the Albanians wrongly shot at him. He was armed he had a Kalashnikov, they should have tear gassed him, arrested him. No where should the police kill people in particular those with psychological disturbances’ Nikos Filis Syriza MP (ex-minister)

The Albanian government did everything in their power to limit the arrivals of Greeks for the funeral of Katsifas in full collaboration with Syriza. After all they are all fighting ...fascism. Rama and Tsipras together. Hence Greek riot police were brought to attack Greeks this side of the border.

The funeral of Katsifas went off peacefully with no disturbances only the Albanian police arrested a nephew of the deceased and the Greek President of the Northern Ipirus Association (based in Greece) for seven hours. Now how did they know who he was?

The Greek government and the Greek media did everything in their power to character assassinate Katsifas from labelling him far right to being a ...drug dealer. In the meantime leftist globalists in Athens recently marched for a well known Nigerian drug dealer as he was killed in an altercation with the Greek police. The death of course of a Nigerian drug dealer in Athens is a ‘racist’ act whilst the death by Albanian police of a Greek in Albania an ...anti-racist one.

The Greek flag for Katsifas funeral. A staple of every protest since the IMF arrived in Greece in 2010.

Conclusion

The Eu responded to questions regarding the status of the Greek minority by the statement of EU representative Han.

‘The Committee gives special importance to the defence of minorities and is observing the issue alongside the current framework of institutional rights’ We have to grant economic and technical aid to Albania to confront the deficiencies of applying the rights of ownership for the Greek minority in Albania is being examined by the Commission.

Now if the Greek minority is to rely on the EU and the NATO cabal they better start packing arms. Nothing good ever came of anyone’s situation once the EU undertook an in depth investigation. Here is the irony of the whole event. The EU is four square behind Rama and the Greek government since the Soviet style regime collapsed in Albania has been instrumental in propping it up. Why change the habits of a lifetime?

No official report by the Albanian police has been produced and as long as it drags on more and more reports emerge alongside statements by the Albanians themselves. The latest version is that the Albanian authorities were called by the Greek authorities so the Greek delegation which was present for the celebrations in Albania to not be endangered for the celebrations of OXI day.

At the rally for Macedonia (January 2019) Katsifas flag which has become a symbol for the Greek nation

The Greek government haven’t responded that they did not ring the Albanian authorities asking for extra security which could have been interpreted as shoot on site after all they are a Greek minority they don’t really care about. Or having participated in the Macedonian rallies in Thessaloniki Katsifa was singled out by Greek security forces and their new found collaboration with albanian ones kicked this whole event off. The only certain so far is that almost six months after his murder the Albanian side still has not produced an official report and the Greek government hasn’t even recalled the Ambassador. They are busy negotiating our fishing rights away trying to make the narco terror state a viable economic entity to join the big EU-NATO happy family they are so concerned about to the detriment of everyone else.
